David Strongin Violin
Born in Tel Aviv in 1993, David Strongin won First Prize at the 2005 and 2009 Mordechai Turgeman Competitions, and Second Prize at the 2012 International Ernest Bloch Competition (London).As a student in the Outstanding Musicians Unit of the Jerusalem Music Centre he has performed in chamber music broadcasts, and participated in masterclasses given by Ida Haendel, Shlomo Mintz, Zachar Bron and others.
David appeared at chamber music festivals including Kfar Blum, Keshet Eilon, Young Euro Classic (Konzerthaus, Berlin), “Intonations” (Jewish Museum, Berlin) and Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival.
As a soloist he performed with orchestras including Ramat Gan Chamber, Raanana Symphonette and Istanbul Philharmonic orchestras and is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. He received his BA (Hons) from the Hannover Hochschule Academy, under the tuition of Krzysztof Wegrzyn, and then continued his studies at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule (Berlin) under Kolja Blacher. David is an alumnus of the new Barenboim-Said academy in Berlin (2016-2019), where he has accomplished his “Artist Diploma” degree, under the tuition of Mihaela Martin.
He is a member of Trio Delyria since 2020 with whom he won National and international prizes, and also a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, led by Maestro Daniel Barenboim, and the West-Eastern Divan Ensemble with Michael Barenboim. He was awarded scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Barenboim-Said Foundation
